To see or not to see, that is the question.

There’s more to sight than meets the eye

.

.

Some people have eyes, yet they cannot see the things in life that really matter. Others see everything important without them. Life is about perception and assimilation of data. Perception goes beyond age and cultures.

As an Optometrist, I’ve had many deep, uplifting conversations with my patients who are often much older than my own parents.  It made me realise that  phrases like ‘generation gap’ are just a myth.  I’ve met many people who seemed like old souls in young bodies and vice versa.  When this happens, words fail to describe the feeling of oneness I experienced with them.

In pursuit of happiness, we all need to feel a sense of belonging and have a common goal to focus on, and if we meet someone with a similar degree of understanding- it feels productive, but Productive to whom? – well ourselves.  If I’m in state of mental chaos, nothing feels solvable, yet when I’ve “put the world to right”, it is as if something has worked out.  When I’m settled and feeling balanced, I look at the world around me in a kind of surreal detached way, and everyone I speak to during that day, becomes a part of that energy.

I have come to realise that all of us are just energy, comprised of this body and mind that has a voice. If we master our attention, our gestures, gait and expressions work towards that revolution. Revolution towards an inner, subtle evolution.  When I think of a situation that isn’t achievable, I may try various ways to suppress that negative thought, but once I’m elevated to a point where I can lift myself above that problem I can see all the inner negativity and from that height, apply a spiritual vacuum cleaner to clean all the stains away from the carpet.

The eyes are a very special sense organ.  As an analogy they would be equivalent to a camera sensor with 576 megapixels, having much more resolution than any modern digital camera.

I’ve seen that something of the essence of nature is reflected inside of us.  In the picture, it looks so like the branches of trees and the optic disc looks like the sun.  If such a similarity exists inside, I’m sure there is yet more to discover about how we are influenced by it in ways that we cannot yet imagine.

Science has been a wonderful thing for the advancement of humanity on many levels. My mother has been personally benefited from recent medical drugs that help with cancer, and likewise in my profession we use drugs that solve problems with the eyes.  We have a 3D eyescanner which can detect diseases much earlier than before, and give patients the best opportunity to save their sight.  One of my interests for long, has been how to prevent disease… do our actions play a part? How much of it is genes and how much is luck?

After years spent pondering these questions, I fell into Sahaja Yoga which was a very practical type of meditation practise. In fact, it was completely logical to understand and easy to practice, as it involves mediation and using certain basic elements to make you feel lighter inside.  As I explore more into the realms of the eyes and discover many similarities with nature, I realise that the only way to find yourself and ultimately peace, is to relate to a universal energy which is all pervading and all encompassing. I found this in Sahaja Yoga meditation. I welcome all to try this and experiment with your own journey within. The light inside will reflect outside and help you in more ways than one.

Sahaja Yoga gives you a change inside which is permanent and very simple to achieve. If you are interested in experiencing your Inner Awakening free of charge, go here.
