This all sounds too good to be true. How do I know it is real?
Sahaja Yoga was created in 1970 by it’s founder, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. Since it’s inception, millions have experienced their Kundalini Awakening with no problems. Sahaja Yoga follows on in the tradition of spiritual knowledge from the Indian Subcontinent which has been evolving for thousands of years. There is nothing new in Sahaja Yoga but it is now fulfilling ancient predictions of a world phenomenon which would awaken the Kundalini energy of everybody..
.
So why didn’t it all happen a long time ago?
That’s because life is a journey and we human beings weren’t ready for this big change in our awareness. It had to happen when we had already tried everything over thousands of lifetimes and felt that only an inner step-change in our awareness could bring about the emancipation of humankind..
.
I hope you don’t mind me asking, but is this a cult?
You may not have heard of Sahaja Yoga before but in some countries it is so well known and respected that it is now regarded as a main-stream activity. The normal understanding of a cult is that it is a religious or pseudo-religious group with a charismatic leader, which is secretive in it’s dealings with the outside world and fosters practises which may be harmful to the individuals involved.
Sahaja Yoga is not like a cult because:
1) It is completely open. All the talks of the founder, Shri Mataji, are available to anyone online. Everything we do is organised by people who are free to promote it in any way they think might work and it has no commercial or corporate aspects to it at all. It is open to all people of any race, creed or colour. It is not secretive.
2) The experience of Kundalini Awakening is a real one that can be felt on the hands and other parts of the body as sensations of heat and coolness. It has nothing to do with self-hypnosis or deception in any way. The awakening of Kundalini brings many benefits to individuals, free of charge, which are discussed further on this site.
3) The founder, Shri Mataji, is widely respected globally for her efforts in demonstrating how to experience the phenomenon of Kundalini awakening, which brings tangible benefits to everyone who experiences it. She was married to a diplomat in the United Nations who was knighted by the queen for his work and she received numerous awards for her work in different countries. She never accepted any money for her teachings and made it a fundamental principle of Sahaja Yoga that it should always be free-of-charge.
4) Millions of people have received Kundalini Awakening without experiencing any problems..
.
The title says “Sensations in your hands show you the way”. What does that mean exactly?
Each finger is connected to one of the subtle centres in the body. There are seven subtle centres (chakras) and each of them embodies certain qualities in your mental and physical being. Once your Kundalini has been awakened, if there is a problem in a chakra you will feel it in a finger as heat or tingling. This therefore shows you where your problems are and it also shows you where you have to work on yourself to cure those problems. All this is explained in Sahaja Yoga meetings – online or in-person..
.
Can this really be free-of-charge? How can you do what you do without charging for it?
It certainly is free for everybody. This is because it doesn’t cost anything for somebody to help you achieve your Kundalini Awakening and it therefore isn’t right to charge for it. It is a built-in gift we all have, so it’s great to be able to show people how to receive and benefit from it. Read the “Who are we” section for more details..
.
But don’t I have to be able to meditate already to experience this?
No. Definitely not. This is for everybody to experience and could be regarded as our birthright. This is for every single man, woman and child on the planet and is very simple. All we have to do is to have an open mind and a desire to feel this connection with the rest of humanity.
.
I meditate already, so why should I try this?
You may have your Inner awakening already and find it easy to meditate in silence. If this is the case, then that’s fine. The way to test if you have self realisation is to ask yourself these questions:
- Do you feel sensations of heat, coolness or tingling in your fingers when you meditate or when you put your attention on to different things in your life?
- Can you feel a sensation like a cool breeze coming from the top of your head on the palm of your hand?
- Are you able to experience a state of “thoughtless awareness” where you can sit in meditation without thinking for a period?
If your answer to all of these is “no” then it is unlikely that you have your Inner awakening so if you would like to, click on the link below to try it.
If you answered “yes” then you would still enjoy being with others who have experience of this meditation themselves, so you are very welcome to join in to find out more about Sahaja Yoga.
.
How do I try it then?
Just click on any of the “Try it now” links. This will take you to a page where you will be invited to try a short meditation – either online or in person – it’s up to you. All you need is to be open minded about it. If you feel any benefit then you can choose to connect with further meetings or with people who already practice Sahaja Yoga. If not then that’s fine – you haven’t lost anything. Everything we do to spread and raise awareness of Sahaja Yoga is free of charge so there is nothing to lose by trying it.
